Purple Elephant

Purple Elephant is a rare, clone-only strain, although there are now shops offering seeds with very high germination rates. Purple Urkle and an unknown cross make up this potent medical marijuana plant. For those of you unaware of the origins of Purple Urkle, it is either a 100 percent Granddaddy Purple or Mendocino Purps Indica phenotype. This California strain from the late 80s became a fan favorite.

With its Indigo growth habit, Purple Elephant has notable high yields with multiple colas and hash-like buds. Flowers are dark green with golden hairs which darken as the buds close in on harvesting time. There’s also a high number of trichomes. The colas are light and airy with THC levels measured as high as 29 to 31 percent with a two and a half hour buzz. Whew, careful with this med!

The purple colors can vary from one plant to another – in this strain, purples will be more prominent if the plant is exposed to cooler weather. The cannabis typically has a strong grape or fruity smell with a sweet and sour taste combination. The high is deeply relaxing, great for full-bodied pain relief and sleep.
